It took Duane “Bang” Ludwig only 2:01 to “Payback” Sam Morgan for an unexpected knockout loss over 3 years ago. Ludwig’s victory capped off “Strikeforce: Payback”, which took place at the Broomfield Events Center in Broomfield, Colo.

Ludwig landed a sharp left to the body of Morgan quickly followed by a crushing overhand right that stunned Morgan who came to rest against the unforgiving cage. Ludwig continued to deliver damage to his opponent causing him to tap due to strikes at 2:01 of the first round.

In other action Frank Trigg continued his winning ways with a unanimous decision victory over Falaniko Vitale. Trigg had mentioned to the HDNet broadcast team early in the night that it was his intent to keep the fight standing as long as possible, and he did just that. Trigg clearly won the first two rounds on his feet, landing knees from the clinch in the first, and by feeding Vitale a steady diet of jabs in the second. A visably tired Trigg secured the victory with two takedowns in the final round. This is the second victory in five weeks for Trigg whos wife gave birth to a new baby son just four weeks ago.
